A great chance for parents and their babies to come out and socialize - held once a week in Shelburne and Barrington.

Toddle~N~Tumble!

King Street Family Resource (CAPC) offers a great fun-filled program for
parents / caregivers and their children called Toddle~N~Tumble!

Toddle~N~Tumble includes story time, songs, crafts, snacks and lots of fun with toys and activities! Plus it's a great time to get together to make new friends! Toddle~N~Tumble is offered weekly at the Centre as well as in the following communities: Lockeport and Barrington.

Children's Clothing Exchange:

At the King Street Centre you will also find a Children's Clothing Exchange where parents are welcome to "Take a few ...bring a few!" Our Resource Lending Library has plenty of parenting books and videos to borrow.

South Shore Family Resource Association - goals

1. To provide a caring, nurturing and safe environment in which children 0 - 6 years can develop socially, emotionally, cognitively and physically.

2. To promote healthy interactions between parents and their children.

3. To promote positive parenting through education and support programs.

4. To provide culturally sensitive, accessible resources to children 0 - 6 years regardless of abilities, socio-economic status or geographic location.

5. To promote the growth and development of the South Shore Family Resource Association.

South Shore Family Resource Assoc. Mission Statement

The South Shore Family Resource Association (SSFRA) is dedicated to nurturing and enhancing the quality of life to every member of every family in Queens, Lunenburg and Shelburne Counties. Our Guiding Principles

Children First - Children must be the primary consideration in CAP-C (Community Action Program for Children) programs.

Strengthening and Support Families - All sectors of Canadian society share the responsibility for children by supporting parents as they raise their children.

Equity and Accessibility - Children, regardless of culture and socio- economic status, are entitled to equal opportunities to develop to their full potential.

Partnerships and Coalitions - Holistic support for children and their families can only be achieved through the combined effort of parents, families, communities, governments and service providers.

Community-Based - The community is viewed as the focus for decision-making and action.

Flexibility - In order to respond to the diversity of communities across Canada and the particular circumstances and changing needs of children and families, CAP-C programs must be flexible.
